Volunteer Drivers Needed

CAN YOU HELP DELIVER MEALS TO YOUR NEIGHBORS IN PREBLE COUNTY?

Dear Friends:

The Preble County Council on Aging has an immediate need for volunteer drivers for home delivered meals. We deliver over 100 meals a day to senior citizens in Preble County, Ohio. At this time, we have one route on Monday and Tuesday that we are seeking volunteers to cover. The following details outline the specifics of the route the volunteer(s) would be driving. We hope this information helps in securing volunteers that will be most appropriate for our immediate need.

  • Delivery to approximately 30 seniors within Eaton city limits.
  • Driving distance is approximately 14 miles. Volunteers use their own vehicle and are compensated $.50 per mile.
  • This meal delivery takes around two hours to complete.

Our meal delivery drivers start their route from the senior center at 10:30 am each morning. Drivers are responsible for delivering meals to the front door of a client’s home, which requires the ability to safely get into and out of their vehicle and maneuver sidewalks and steps to the client’s door. There may be some instances in which we ask the driver to obtain a client’s signature, drop off a newspaper or other document, and/or help open their milk or food tray.

In addition to our immediate need on Monday and Tuesday, we are always seeking back-up drivers to fill in for illness, vacations, etc.  We would appreciate any help you can give us.  If you have any other questions, please contact Ashley at the Preble County Council on Aging.

If possible, please respond as soon as possible. Thank you very much for your support of the Preble County Council on Aging.

Sincerely,
Ashley Bowers
