Home Delivered Meal

HOME DELIVERED MEALS
The Home-Delivered Meal program, served in a home setting, works to improve the nutrition of homebound older adults. The program offers many older adults a sense of connection to the outside world. All meals provide at least one-third of the government`s daily-recommended dietary allowances. Meal deliverers check on the welfare of the homebound elderly and often become friends. They are trained to report any health or other problems they may notice during their visits. Meals are delivered between 10:30 am to 2:00 pm Monday through Friday, except holidays. These meals are commonly referred to as "Meals on Wheels."

VOLUNTEER DRIVERS ARE NEEDED
The Preble County Council on Aging's Home Delivered Meal Program needs volunteer drivers to work two to three hours a day delivering meals in their vehicle to senior citizens. Volunteer drivers will have a dedicated route, and they can work, one, two, or more days per week, or just one day per month.  Drivers will receive mileage reimbursement.

CONTRIBUTIONS
Income from a suggested donation of $2.50 for meals is used to enhance the overall meal program and to help meet the rising food and transportation costs. Your donations are appreciated.  We look forward to providing your meal.  Thank you for letting us serve you and thank you for your support.
